A single Mega Millions ticket sold in Florida won the July 28 drawing, Mega Millions said, with a final jackpot of $803 million and a cash option of $345.5 million. The official release listed the winning numbers as 34, 48, 49, 59 and 70, plus Mega Ball 12, and ranked the prize as the tenth largest in the game’s history.

Drawing and sales
The jackpot had been advertised near $800 million before the final sales tally. Mega Millions said the July 28 amount is based on actual sales and is only the third Mega Millions jackpot win of 2026, after a $536 million Illinois prize on March 10 and a $60 million Ohio win on March 17. The run covered 38 drawings after the Ohio hit and produced nearly 10.9 million non-jackpot winning tickets worth more than $273 million, the game said.
In the July 28 draw alone, Mega Millions reported 645,993 winning tickets at lower prize tiers plus the sole jackpot ticket. Two tickets matched all five white balls: a New York ticket worth $3 million with a 3X multiplier and an Illinois ticket worth $5 million with a 5X multiplier.
Where it was sold
CBS12 and NorthJersey.com, citing the Florida Lottery, reported the jackpot ticket was sold at a Wawa at 14510 State Road 70 East in Bradenton. Florida Lottery Secretary Reginald Dixon said in a statement carried by NorthJersey.com, “We are thrilled to congratulate Florida’s newest Mega Millions jackpot winner on this incredible, life-changing moment.”
Florida also holds the game’s record prize, a $1.602 billion jackpot from Aug. 8, 2023. Since joining Mega Millions in 2013, Florida has now won or shared six jackpots, according to the July 29 release.
Next drawing and claims
Mega Millions reset the Friday, July 31 jackpot to a starting $50 million ($21.5 million cash). Drawings are Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. Eastern in Atlanta. Jackpot odds are 1 in 290,472,336.
Florida Lottery guidance says Mega Millions jackpot prizes must be claimed in the state of purchase, with a 180-day claim window from the draw date and a cash-option election period of 60 days. For prizes above $1 million, claims go through Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee. Florida law also allows a temporary 90-day exemption from public disclosure of winner names for prizes of $250,000 or more, unless the winner waives it.
